After you have gathered extra money from various random jobs, you can start to tune and upgrade the car with parts ordered via snail mail. Basically doing stupid things under influence of alcohol. If everything goes well, you have a working car which you can use for various 1990's Finnish countryside summer activities. Sausages, beer and sleeping will do just fine. Not only you need to maintain your car, but yourself as well. You start the game with hundreds of loose parts and assemble both car and engine. MY SUMMER CAR is the ultimate car owning, building, fixing, tuning, maintenance AND permadeath life survival simulator.
My Summer Car is a game that doesn't take itself too seriously, but puts some REAL effort into using the Unity engine up to it's full potential. There's other vehicles to drive as well, such as a beat up van to get around until your awesome car is built and a tractor to haul stuff. All while trying to balance your needs, very akin to recent survival games. There's drinking, cursing, urinating, sausage cooking, crashing, money making, and of course death. The game takes place in the Finnish Countryside in 1995, and as a.Finnish person I'd assume (luckily the game translates things into English), you're task is to put together a car out of literally a hundred parts (right down to the bolts!) so that you can have summer fun. Yes, this game seems to be part car mechanic simulator and part.survival game? Not only this, but there's plenty of strange depth to the game as well, although in the beginning it is definitely less than intuitive.
